When Khrissy and Jason buried the bourbon a month before their wedding day, they were hoping this sweet southern tradition would give them sunny skies; however Mother-Nature had other plans. She gave them a future of good luck instead. It was definitely worth the trade because when the couple said their vows in an outdoor ceremony in Clinton, North Carolina – under a light mist in front of their family and friends – it seemed straight out of a 19th century romance novel. It was such an amazing and lovely day.
I had been looking forward to this wedding from the moment I met with Khrissy. She had plans to open her vintage rental company Southern Vintage Rental & Design after the wedding, so she was passionate about design and eager to spend the year collecting individual pieces that would make her and Jason’s wedding day unique. It was truly a photographer’s dream wedding. A vintage lace gown, a bouquet of wild flowers and roses, a tree planting ceremony, gorgeous vintage furniture: No detail was overlooked. Every place setting at the wedding reception included a different colored depression glass and one-of-a-kind vintage china. There was even a children’s table with miniature wooden chairs and their very own china pattern.
Yet my favorite part of their September 13th nuptials was the amazing connection between Jason and Khrissy and between all of their family and friends. Everyone worked together to make their day special. Once the wedding details were finished and the ceremony was underway, the sharing of their vows and their commitment to one another was their only focus. They laid the groundwork for a strong, enduring marriage.
I’m so very happy for you both, Jason and Khrissy!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your extended family! xoxo.
