“I love rains which carry desires to oceans”
– Etel Adnan
Often when it rains on a wedding day, there can be a melancholy that washes over the bride and groom. All the plans a couple makes in their mind’s eye about the details of their wedding day are usually bathed in a sea of light. They don’t often envision a dark and moody wedding atmosphere. However, when I woke up to pouring rain for Jonathan and Whitney’s wedding day, I was not concerned. I knew they would view it as intimate and romantic. A moment for carrying their desires to oceans.
The most memorable part of the day for me was when the guests spontaneously clapped and shouted cheers of excitement when the groom walked down the aisle. It was like the entire room was so full of love it couldn’t possibly contain it any longer. Usually this occurs after the vows and the first kiss but – in this dark, moody, intimate and romantic setting – filled with an entire room of love- the sight of the groom at the beginning of the ceremony was the first outpouring of joy. It continued throughout the evening.
I wanted to wish Happy First Anniversary to Jonathan and Whitney! I know your second year is about to be as magical as your first! Much love, Casey xoxo
